Volunteers

 
At Oakwood we believe that God has granted each person with
unique and special talents.  We offer plenty of opportunities for individuals to serve Him.  Following is a list of specialty areas that we are always looking to fill with volunteers. Please fill out the Volunteer Application Form and indicate the area(s) that you are interested in serving.
 
 
___ Advertisement – those who know how to use creative ways to get our
        church name out. (Example: newspapers, phone book, handouts, etc.)
 ___ Audio/Video Technicians – set up and monitor the sound for music    
         and video activities. (example: running and putting together the power
        point for the service)
 ___ Bus Drivers – those who transport our children, teens, or adults.
 ___ Care Ministry – a team that welcomes First Time Attenders. Makes
         them feel welcome, shows them around, takes cookies to them.
 ___ Cleaning – clean the office once a week.
 ___ Coffee Service – setting up and tearing down the table for coffee and tea on
         Sundays. 
 ___ Counseling – those who feel led to counsel and exhort our people in
        areas of marriage, job, and personal problems using the Bible as our guide. 
 ___ Drama Teams –  Doing skits, drama, puppets, etc. to help teaching
         ministry at Oakwood. (Acting or leading)
 ___ Vistor Follow-up – visiting people who have attended for the first time.
 ___ Greeters – the welcoming team that greets those attending our service. 
 ___ Offering Counters – this team takes care of counting, sorting, and
         recording all of the offerings from the weekend.
 ___ Music Staff – producing material for music department. (example
         making practice CDs). 
 ___  Research Team – a team of researchers given specific target
         areas of research for our Pastor’s sermons.
  ___ Small Group Leaders – lead a Bible study in a home during the
         week. They are responsible for the care of our flock on a individual level. 
        The leader is a facilitator for discussion not one who uses a lecture method.
___  Event Organizers – those who help with the organization
         and administration of fellowship events. (ex. Chili Cook-off, Christmas
         Banquet, and Summer Picnic)
 ___ Surveys Takers – taking surveys or handing out advertisement in our area. 
 ___ Teachers/Sunday Morning – those who work with Bible learning
         classes during our Sunday services. These include games, discussions of
         bible stories, and music.
 ___ Teachers/Mid-Week –those who work with Bible learning classes
        during our mid-week program. We have children, youth, and singles that
        meet in larger groups on Wednesday. (Examples: working in youth
        program for teens, leading singles, or working in children’s Awana program)
 ___ Equipment Movers – take care of and deliver trailers for Sunday and
         Wednesday programs.
 ___ Video / CD  Sales– this ministry provides a service by coordinating,
         producing, and selling videos or C/Ds of our services.
 ___ Volunteer Office Staff –  those who help with the bulletin, producing
         material for church functions, mail outs, answering phone, etc.
 ___ Web-Team – Running, maintaining, and organizing our church web site.
