The Oakwood Nursery and Toddler Departments are a loving and peaceful environment designed to care for and nurture children birth through Three years of age. The Nursery Room is designed for Newborns through 13 to 15 months old. In order to be promoted to the Toddler Room, we recommend that your baby has developed a “sturdy walk.”
Each room is equipped with an environment to meet your child’s needs at each developmental stage.
We recommend parents bring a diaper bag and bottle/cup both labeled with your child's name. You may also want to bring a change of clothes for your child just in case it is needed. Please list any food allergies as you sign your child into our care. Butter cookies and water are offered at each service as a snack for our Toddlers.
The Oakwood Nursery and Toddler Departments are available during every adult worship service.

Where is the Oakwood Nursery?
The Oakwood Nursery is located just outside the Worship Center, in the South Hallway Teacher’s Lounge.

The Oakwood Toddler Room is set up in the South Hallway.
How will you contact me if my child needs me?
Each parent is given a pager labeled with a specific number when you
Drop your child off. If your child becomes inconsolable or ill the pager will vibrate,
our signal to you that your child needs your attention.
If you would like to see the remaining portion of the worship service, you may take your child to the Foyer where a live video feeds into a family-friendly environment and Television Screen.
Will my child have the same teacher each week?
Your child will experience a staff of three different teaching teams who rotate on a Two week on/Four week off basis. Many of our Teacher Teams have served in the Nursery/Toddler Departments for Four Years or more.
Will my Toddler have an organized lesson?
Yes, the Toddler curriculum involves a short flannel graph story and correlating craft.
How does Oakwood keep parents involved in their child’s experience at church?
We believe the best way for parents to be involved in what their child is learning is to become a part of the team that teaches your child.
How can I volunteer in Oakwood Nursery and Toddler Rooms?
There are many positions available where you can serve: our Saturday set up team, our Sunday tear down team and substitute teaching positions are available.
