Countdown

Christmas is over. We had so much fun and laughter, sharing and spending time with everyone. The years seem to fly by faster and faster. We have parents, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren all together at the same time. What an amazing blessing. We learn to treasure each moment that God gives us because those moments go by so quickly. Our kids grow up in the blink of an eye and we sit and wonder how we got here so fast. We begin to count down the days until the new year begins. We make plans and resolutions that we think will be good for us. Plans to exercise, plans to get a new job, plans to eat healthy, plans to mend a broken relationship, whatever our plans may be for the new year, the most important plan is to build a solid relationship with God. Only through Him do we find true happiness and success.

As I look back on 2018, I’ve learned a lot. God has opened up doors for me and has held my hand every step of the way. I have done things and conquered fears only because He has made it possible. He has surrounded me with a loving family, great friends, and a beautiful church family. As all of us do, I face daily challenges, fears, and struggles. I trust everything to God. I know that whatever His plan is, that it is good. When I”m going through the rough spots, I find a lot of comfort and peace in knowing that He is in control.

So, I continue to learn from the past and move forward in the future with God by my side. I am excited for the new year and excited to see where God leads me. He holds on tight to the people we love and He never lets us down. I treasure my past, even the mistakes, because it brought me to the place where I am today. Complete faith in God.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under Heaven.

Philippians 3:13-14 ESV
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it on my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV
Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
