Answered Prayer

I never used to give it a second thought, but as my prayer life grew, I started realizing all the answered prayers I have been blessed to receive. I also found out that prayers aren’t always answered the way you expect. What we desire and ask God for may not be in our best interest and God has a different direction that He’s leading us in. Often times He will lead us through something we don’t understand. We find blessings quite often through enduring trials. Developing a relationship with God through my prayer life has taught me to be patient and to trust God. Receiving the “feel good” answer from God isn’t always the best for me. He knows everything about me, inside out. He knows what is good for me, He knows what is on my heart, He knows everything and I trust it all to Him.

I’ve seen it in action and witnessed it up close and personal. When we become serious about our relationship with God we look at things different. What we thought we couldn’t do, we can do. What we thought would turn people away from us actually draws them closer to us. I encountered it with my co-workers. When others begin to truly understand who you are and what you value, they begin to feel comfortable sharing things with you that they may have struggled with before. God doesn’t want us to worry. He wants us to come to Him in prayer and to put our faith and trust in Him. He understands what worries us and He wants to lift our burdens away.

So when we come to God in prayer, we know that He’s always listening and He always hears our requests. He’s going to take care of us and He’s going to take care of the people we love. He knows what troubles us. All we have to do is give it to Him, have faith, trust in His strength, and watch His divine power in action. It’s amazing how our lives change when we “let go and let God.” He created each and every one of us. He doesn’t make mistakes. He knows exactly what He’s doing. I willingly and completely give it all to Him.

John 14:13-14 ESV
Whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

Matthew 7:7-8 ESV
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

Mark 11:24 ESV
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
