Laughter

It feels so good to laugh sometimes. Things can get tiresome and hectic through the week and we all need to take a break and find something that makes us smile and laugh. Whether it’s going to see a funny movie (which I just did a couple of days ago), laughing at a funny, but wholesome joke, or sharing good times and laughing with friends and family. Laughing and having fun is healthy and good for the soul. Proverbs 17:22- “A joyful heart is good medicine.”

Laughing helps us to cope with all kinds of struggles. We all experience bad days. Having someone around us to lighten our mood and make us feel better is a good thing. God gave us this amazing ability to laugh and share good times together. Our human emotions can lead us down a confusing road at times, and we just have a need for laughter. Ecclesiastes 3:4 – “A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.” Laughing can ease our minds and bring us back to the peace we feel with God.

Laughing helps us feel better. We connect easier with people when we smile and laugh. Having people in our corner that know us and understand our little quirks, (for me, that would be my mom, and my sister, Kathy, who have no problem laughing at me, of course all in fun), helps to build and encourage our faith and confidence. Smile and laugh, it just might brighten someones day.

Proverbs 15:15 ESV
All the days of the afflicted are evil, but the cheerful of heart have a continual feast.

Luke 6:21 ESV
Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.

Psalm 118:24 ESV
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
