Loving Difficult People

We love with all of our hearts and we pray with all of our strength. Sometimes we can feel like we’re just not getting through to someone, then there’s a glimpse of hope. When we finally see that window cracked open, we see that glimpse of hope, we know God is answering our prayers. Loving someone difficult can really take it’s toll on us. We exhaust ourselves trying to figure out why this person is so resisting. We have to take a step back and understand that God loves this person as much as He loves us. We’ve finally got the window cracked opened. We have to stay focused on God and let Him work through us to reach this person.

He’s given us a mission, reaching people for Him. The people we love the most can be the hardest for us to deal with. We find our courage in God. We know how much God loves them, we can’t give up. We do what He strengthens us to do and leave the rest up to Him. We may get tired, we may get impatient, but God doesn’t. We have to understand that God has a plan for every person. It’s not for us to try to understand His plan, but we know that whatever He has in store for this person, it’s going to be for His glory.

So, we keep on loving, we keep on praying, and we hang tight to God. Loving someone difficult requires God being in control of the situation. He knows His plan, and He’s using us even if we don’t see the big picture yet. We go a little further in each encounter with this person, we keep praying and seeking God’s guidance, and God puts us at peace because we know that He’s in control. He provides the help we need, He doesn’t leave us worried and frustrated. He’s in control!!!!

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Peter 4:8 ESV
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
