I recently saw a photo online of the Mississippi River and the various paths it has taken over the course of its existence. Did you know the Mississippi River is a dynamic and changing river? It’s hard to imagine with the billions of people in this world, that we’re all very different from one another. Not one of us are the same. How amazing is that? Our Lord is unchanging. In my life, prayer is so essential. Without my time with God in the morning, I feel lost for the rest of the day. I look at each day as a new opportunity to learn something new. I ask God to surround the people I love. Whatever His plan is for them, I ask Him to hold them close and take care of them as only He can do. My birthday was last week. It had been a difficult week as the TR (my work) family had a tragedy in losing a coworker. It affected me differently than other losses because the older you get, you realize how much more you appreciate life. I was driving this morning, listening to The Message on Sirius XM and the DJ said something that hit me really quickly.. and somewhat hard. Of course, this isn’t a new thought, but it’s just amazing how God will let you hear something again and it just hits you differently this time – kind of like a ton of bricks. I think as we experience life and we go through things, when we hear something again, we have a different perspective and different circumstances in which to apply it.

Church is very important in my life. I am involved with a family of believers that know the importance of staying connected with Christ and with people. We form strong bonds as we become closer and closer to Jesus Christ, the one true King. It becomes so easy to push church aside and make excuses. We can let other things get in the way of making a true commitment to be involved in church.
