Control

Do you ever just want to take control of something that isn’t in your control? I sure do. I want people to know what I know and see things the way that I see them. If they would only agree with me, things would be so much better. But, thank goodness I’m not in control – that would be a complete disaster. GOD is in control. He has everything already worked out. He gave us free will, so we are never going to fully agree on anything. One thing is definite, His plan and His decisions prevail. We will muddle through our disagreements, and battle our spiritual warfare, but then we can rest easy because He’s already won the battle for us. So, when we are confused about why someone is making the choices they are making, we can always turn to God and know that He knows that person better than we do. He knows us better than we know ourselves. He will bring us all in alignment with His plan.

I have found that when I let go of the worrying and just do the best I can, God always take care of it. We worry about our kids, even though they may be adults, they’re still our kids. We may not understand things they do or choices they make, but God does. Sometimes it’s hard to watch, we don’t always trust their decision making (if they would only let us make the decision for them, right? But we can’t). If they only knew how their decision affects me! Ha! Whew, it’s so much easier to just give it to God, He’s got more stamina, more patience, and more wisdom then my tiny brain can handle. So, I give it all to Him.

Things will work out. God reigns over all. We get through this life knowing and trusting in God. We will never understand things or people all the time, but we are called to love above all else. Because of His love for us, He gave the ultimate sacrifice. Jesus took on the cross for us and demonstrated His love for us. I can definitely put my differences aside and just love. So, when I catch myself wanting to take control, I have to stop and pray and give it to God!!! I can be relieved and relaxed knowing He has already taken care of it.

Revelation 1:17 NKJV
And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.

Psalm 94:19 NKJV
In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.

Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Have a blessed day!!!
