---About Rita

“Being a Christ follower throughout my life has been quite the journey.  He’s taken me through deep waters and trials that have tested me over the years.  I have fallen so many times, and He’s always been there to lift me back up on my feet.  Through a series of broken relationships, I finally figured out what was important to me, putting God first and letting Him lead me.  I love writing and learning, and growing with God.  I have a beautiful, adult daughter that I love spending time with whenever I can.  My hope is to be a tool for God to use to lead others to Him”.

Only With my Savior

We’ve made it a little more than half way through the year. It sure hasn’t been easy for anyone. There’s been a lot of loss and heartache for people. Our lives were turned upside down. It’s been anything but normal. I only make it through the chaos and confusion because of my Savior. He promises to walk right by

Finding Inspiration (in This Time)

With this coronavirus pandemic taking over our lives, it’s been tough to find the inspiration to write. It’s so easy to get caught up in the fear and stress of it all. But, we can work our way out of feeling down and depressed. We only need to look to God. When we focus our attention on Him and not on our problems, our outlook becomes different. When we think about those who are on the front lines every day, taking care of us, making sure we’re safe, that’s our inspiration to fight through our troubles. So many people are out there keeping us going, providing everything we need to make it through. Things are different, things have

God’s Faith in Me

When I doubt myself, God has faith in me. When I think I’m not good enough, God has faith in me. When I feel like an outsider, He is my friend and companion. He cheers me on when I have no one else. When I am angry, He calms me down. When I am hurt, He lifts me up. When I have lost my way, He finds me. When I don’t know what to say, He gives me the words. He is my stronghold. He is my life line. Without Jesus, I

Flesh vs. Spirit

We’re only human, right? We’re allowed to get upset and throw temper tantrums. It wasn’t our fault to begin with, and the other person should have known better. We battle constantly with our desire to control things that are out of our control. When we don’t get our way, we start to find fault in others and in the way everything turned out. We often let our emotions get the best of us. Our emotions are what can get us in trouble. When we give control to our selfish desire to have things our way, we end up in a battle that we

Only With God

We made it through yesterday at work. Certain days can be a little rough, and yesterday was one of them. Only with God, was I able to accomplish things. He settled my stress and guided my hands, and just led me through my work. Plenty of times we feel the pressure but He takes the reigns and tells us to just rest in

Practicing Humility

Practicing humility allows us to breathe. It teaches us how to get out of our own way and accept the help of others. I don’t know about anyone else, but I can sure get myself into a lot of trouble when I think I know everything. I can become a little arrogant because I get really comfortable doing something. That’s when I find myself in the most trouble. I can forget that I need others around me to learn from and to grow with.

Weakness Produces Strength

I grew up letting my physical weaknesses define who I am. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. A lot of people have physical weaknesses and limitations. We can choose to let our physical weakness define our character or we can let God use our physical weakness to define His character. After all, He designed us, He knows our weaknesses better than we do. He uses our weaknesses to draw us closer to Him. It took me a long time to realize that my weakness doesn’t make me weak, my weakness makes me strong. It reminds

Fellowship

It’s important for us to stay in fellowship with each other. When we keep a grounded connection with others, we continue to grow. We all have work and commitments. Families and children and busy lives. It can be tough to make time for Christian fellowship and time with God, or so we think. But, that’s the key right there. By making time to spend with God, and making time to fellowship with others, everything else falls into place. By taking care of ourselves spiritually, we are able to take care of the people we love. We

Tell Them About Jesus

Are you strong in your faith with Jesus? Do you know who you are in Christ? Tell someone else. Share your heart with them. Tell them about your Savior. You never know whose life you may impact. We have the opportunity to be used by God. Somebody you know needs to hear about Jesus, so tell them. Open that door and start a conversation. What if something happened tomorrow and we never took the time to have that conversation. Don’t let it pass you by.

Getting Answers

Sometimes we just need answers. Things begin to happen with us that don’t seem normal. We assume it’s just part of life. We become more tired and it’s just because we’re getting older. We can’t keep up the way we used to. I just need more exercise, right, but I’m too tired, my body hurts. I may be a little older, but I’m too young to feel this tired. I can’t keep up with people I should be able to keep up with. That’s when we
